Baked Brie in Bread Bowl with Cranberry Sauce and Thyme

  • Author: Joy

Ingredients

For the Baked Brie:
1 round Brie cheese (8 oz)
1 large round sourdough bread (for the bowl)
¼ cup cranberry sauce (preferably homemade or a quality store-bought version)
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (plus more for garnish)
1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
Salt and pepper, to taste
For Serving:
Sliced baguette or crackers
Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary) for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Bread Bowl:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about 1-inch of bread around the edges to create a bowl. Save the top and any extra bread for dipping or serving.
Bake the Brie:
Place the round Brie inside the hollowed-out bread bowl. Spread cranberry sauce on top of the Brie and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves. If desired, drizzle honey over the top for added sweetness. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Bake in the Oven:
Place the bread bowl with Brie on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and melty. Keep an eye on it to ensure the bread doesn’t burn, especially if you’re using a thinner loaf.
Serve:
Once the Brie is baked and gooey, remove it from the oven. Garnish with additional fresh thyme leaves. Serve with slices of baguette, crackers, or the leftover bread from the bowl.
Enjoy this warm, creamy, and flavorful baked Brie with the tangy sweetness of cranberry sauce and the aromatic touch of thyme! Perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy appetizers. Let me know if you’d like any adjustments! 🧀🍞✨
